Diagnosis
Antennal scrobes join below frontal suture; female flagellomeres short and stout, e.g. flagellomere 1 2.4X as long as wide; male scape 3.7X as long as wide; forewing speculum open below; propodeum with median carina with sides rounded and converging towards posterior part, and with anterior part blunt; female gaster short, MM/LG = 1.1, and ovate, first gastral tergite with posterior 2/3 with punctures; scutellum flat with posteromedian part smooth and shiny.< /FONT >
Distribution
Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, U.S.A. (California, Texas).
Biology
From Acanthoscelides sp. on Phaseolus spp., A. obtectus (Say), “Bruchus sp.” in Acacia seeds, Stator pruininus (Horn) from seeds of Acacia and Olneya. All hosts are Bruchidae (Coleoptera).
